Each can includes our flavorful Coffee Cake Topping Mix and quick-mixing base. Create perfectly satisfying coffee cake with these simple steps:

  1. Combine and Mix: Add base mix to 1 ½ lbs flour (use whole wheat options for WGR compliance) and 5 cups water. Mix for 4 minutes.
  2. Customize (Optional): Fold in 2 quarts of fruit (like blueberries or apple slices) for added flavor and nutritional benefits.
  3. Top and Bake: Sprinkle included topping mix over batter. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until golden.

Yield and Nutritional Info:

  • Standard: 42 servings (1 Grain Ounce Equivalent each)
  • Smaller Servings: Options for 64, 70, or 80 servings (½ Grain Ounce Equivalent each)
  • Fruit Addition: Both 42-cut and 64-cut options provide ⅛ cup fruit when included.

Fruit and Streusel Coffee Cake

Instructions:

  1. Prep Topping: Remove Cinnamon Coffee Cake Topping from the can and set aside.
  2. Combine Base: Mix Coffee Cake Start'r with 1 lb, 3 oz Whole Wheat Flour and 5 oz Enriched Wheat Flour. Then add 5 cups of water and mix on medium speed for 5 minutes.
    • Whole Grain Note: For a non-WGR option, use 1 lb, 8 oz Enriched Wheat Flour.
  3. Pan Prep: Spread batter evenly into TWO greased 12" x 20" x 4" pans.
  4. Add Fruit & Top: Top each pan with 1 ½ quarts of fruit pie filling or thickened fruit. Sprinkle both with the reserved Coffee Cake Topping.
  5. Bake: In a preheated 400°F oven for 45 minutes, or until done.
    • Tip: Using hot fruit filling may reduce baking time.

Serving Options:

  • 18 cuts/pan: 1 Grain Ounce Equivalent + ¼ cup Fruit
  • 24 cuts/pan: ¾ Grain Ounce Equivalent + ⅛ cup Fruit
  • 30 cuts/pan: ½ Grain Ounce Equivalent + ⅛ cup Fruit
  • 36 cuts/pan: ½ Grain Ounce Equivalent + ⅛ cup Fruit
